My Top 10 must-see movies for 2014

One of our favorite family activities is watching a movie together. That is why I have listed my top 10 must-see movies for this year. This Year in Movies will once again be a year of sequels and remakes.

So Movie-Lovers, get ready to save some money and gather all theater hotline numbers to reserve your tickets and remember to get the best seats!

My Top 10 must-see movies for 2014

1. The Hunger Games: Mockinjay - Part 1

The third and final installment to the beloved franchise which is split into two parts come this year. Part 1 features the start of the war against the Capitol and the Rebellion. Katniss, who accepts her path becomes symbol of rebellion and she is ready to fight. As she returns to Panem and the rebellion at her side, she must save everyone from the cruelty of the Capitol. Including those who are important to her. Although Mockingjay has been said to be the worst of the book trilogy, the crew will try and supply the needs of the movie just like they did with Catching Fire.

2. The Hobbit: There and Back Again

After the Dragon Smaug has escaped the misty mountains, it is up to the group to save Erebor from the vicious Dragon.

3. Godzilla

Godzilla is the remake of the science fiction monster film that features the famous Japanese film monster. After the American remake of the Japanese monster which was extremely a let down. This one will remake the Japanese version of the movie which was good. The plot, story plus CGI looks better than the American remake which is one to look out for this year.

4. Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes

After the success of the prequel/remake of Rise of The Planet of the apes, the sequel of the 2011 hit will continue the war for humanity as apes grow stronger and the virus has spread.

5. X-Men: Days Of Future Past

The movie features the X-Men fighting a war of survival as the older X-Men are forced to go back the past to their future.

6. Amazing Spider-Man 2

Although the first movie showed the elements the original Spider-Man had and was not really that satisfying. The sequel will try its best to redeem the movie franchise. With three villains, The Green Goblin, Rhino and Electro which took the road that Spider-Man 3 made (which was a very bad movie). The CGI however is still not satisfying (as shown in the trailer), Spider-Man still looks like a rip-off from a next gen video game. Even though after all of what may be it's flaws the movie has potential and has better story than the first one, it even shows a teaser for the Sinister 6 (The 6 Most Menacing Villains of Spider-Man).

7. Captain America: The Winter Soldier

The second installment of Marvel's 2011 "Captain America, The Winter Soldier" features Marvel's beloved superhero Captain America played by Chris Evans. The movie takes the Jason Bourne like storyline, Cap is tested as he works for shield, he is threatened by a certain Winter Soldier, which in the comics, is the friend of Cap back in the days but had an accident, his body has been replaced by robotics by the russians and becomes a threat to Cap. The movie has a lot of potential and has a great plot if compared to the first one.

8. How To Train Your Dragon 2

An upcoming 3D computer-animated action fantasy film, "How To Train Your Dragon 2" is loosely based on the book series of the same name by Cressida Cowell.

9. The Lego Movie

For Lego babies out there, you will surely love this movie.  And to the parents out there, let your kids enjoy the little blocks, not only will fascinate their eyes, it will bring out their imagination skills.

10. 22nd Jumpstreet

Definitely will conquer the movie house for this movie. I cant forget the original. I laugh so hard  every time I watch and remember it. And of course my Mom's dream boyfriend Channing Tatum is there.

Although sequels aren't always good as the original, this one is to anticipate and enjoy this year.

Grab your tub of popcorn and let's get ready to sit back and relax, and watch a movie!
